Islam did not exist before 600 AD. In 50 BC the Land of Israel had been ruled by Jews for hundreds of years it was called Judea. The Romans conquered it and after a revolt by the Jews the Romans changed the name to Palestine, but there were no Palestinians. The Romans chose the name because the Philistines were the ancient enemy of the Jews, but the Philistines no longer existed. At that time only Christians, pagans and mainly Jews lived in the region. The first Arab muslims conquered the region from the Christian Eastern Roman empire. They slaughtered Jews and Christians alike and then forced most of those remaining to convert to Islam. But Jews remained. The Palestinians are the descendants of those forced to
convert to Islam by their Arab conquerors. Crusaders briefly occupied parts of the land of Israel for a hundred years. Then the region fell to the Ottoman/Turkish Empire. Which then fell to the British Empire in 1918. Then Britain handed over the Land of Israel to the UN in 1948, which divided it between Arabs and Jews. The Jews accepted the partition and asked to live in peace with the Arabs. The Arabs attacked. The current war has been going on since 1948, it was started by the Arabs.
