Dr. Kaku is wrong about the "you can't yell 'Fire!' in a crowded theater" argument. In some cases it would be irresponsible not to, for example, when there's a fire.
We've been hearing a great deal about AI for the past several months … and, regulation may well be in order … but, WHY WOULD THE TECH WORLD THROW THIS BACK TO CONGRESS TO FORMULATE REGULATION !!!
Wouldn't it be more appropriate for the Tech Minds to prepare an outline for such regulation … and Present it to some government official to draft the official format … and, even then, present it back to the Tech Minds for their input and approval … with final agreement coming from their government official … and subsequent presentation to Congress et al … for the formal vote …
Afterall … we all know how "well" congress does with what they call regulation … Especially since NONE OF THEM is tech savvy enough on the subject of AI … to do this on their own !!!
NOW is the time to guide the government officials … NOT after the legislation exists in the most skeletal of form !!!
Most real misinformation comes from governments.

He's a Dr who should know its not true about shouting fire in a theater..same is true about shots being fired in a mall ..its a fabrication!
Recently I got frustrated with government agencies hiding from the public behind voicemails and emails in which I could nor find a phone number to speak to a live person. If there are not enough employees willing to assist a tax paying citizen, then why not an AI who has all the available answers to help. Of course this would either put people out of a job, especially if they refuse to do it, or free them up to do other necessary things like get another cup of coffee.

A quantum computer fact checker, WOW, that is all we need. If it gathers its info from news sources and 90% of the news outlets are corrupt, how will it get the correct facts, from which to fact check with?
