Having seen the other teams performances, NRR is not going to be an issue for India and Newzealand… Its the Knockout matches which India have to win… Mr Pujara having played 2 WTC finals and failing to perform will know how does it feel to lose in knockouts…

Come on guys, India scored 32 runs in last 3.5 overs and finished off the game where Kohli got a hundred which is good for the team and for himself.

If you talk about NRR only, then India could have scored quickly in the last two games as well because after Rohit's dismissal, the run rate dropped a bit.

As an India cricket fan, I stand by Raunak on this. Kudos for calling out a strange ending to the match. This is not about right or wrong. Yes India will steamroll into the semis, yes NRR won't matter. But the bigger point is respect for the cricketing Gods which I think Virat has a lot of, hence the surprise the way it ended. You would least expect Virat to turn down runs on offer to get to a personal milestone. I just hope the cricketing Gods don't turn their back on India because there was indeed a slight disregard for the game's integrity at that point, no doubt. Also it would send a wrong signal in the team that it is okay to play for your hundred when you are on 85 since the ODI GOAT himself has done it now.

Yesterday Virat Kohli denied many singles to ensure he gets to his hundred which meant the match went to 42nd over.
If those singles were taken and also encouraged KL Rahul to finish the game early, the match would have finished much earlier and it would have had better impact on NRR and possibly taken it past New Zealand to top the table..
Who knows it could come down to NRR in the end to decide the semi finalists or to decide who plays who in semi finals.
Why is it so important to achieve personal milestone rather than doing what is in the interest of the team…?

Kohli made 29 runs in last 17 balls, is that slow & affecting India's net run rate? He denied 2-3 singles but he also hit 3 sixes in last overs. It's not like he was knocking for his century. Also no one can tell any other instance where kohli batted for his century, out of 78 hundreds if he denies 2-3 singles for one century without harming team's goal what's the issue?
