I considered Mr. Shumer a fine man and our Majority leader. I’ve actually written to him in a positive manner. The Hamas attacks and the publicity that followed also caused me to research why the conflict in the Middle East and why do we support Israel. We support Israel because it is our biggest ally in the region. It supports our interests. I can live with that. What I found out about Israel, I CANNOT!
Israel is APARTHEID! This alone, CHANGED everything for me. As of about a week ago, I NO LONGER SUPPORT ISRAEL!!! I found out WE have been LIED to! How can we, a nation that stands for Democracy here and abroad, support an APARTHEID nation? Now the idea of Senator Shumer flying into Israel on our Congressional Planes to brief them on our position and to show them our assistance and commitment, now it doesn’t look good to me anymore!
