  1. I really like Moran's summary of our strike, I've been listening to all news about our strike and he is the only one that make me feel describes the situation on the workers perspective ❤❤

  2. They are raising the price of cars, Fire them all, hire non greedy people

  3. Kudos to the UAW for championing workers' rights and advocating for their well-being.

I have dedicated my entire career to working in union jobs within the state of California, specifically with organizations like CCPOA and SEIU. I firmly believe in the importance of recognizing the historical struggle and sacrifice of the men and women who fought tirelessly for workers' rights. Without unions, the workforce lacks a significant voice and representation.

Union involvement is crucial because, without it, employees might spend two to three decades at a job and only receive a farewell watch upon retirement. However, with the support of unions (depending on the company), workers have the opportunity to secure a pension, which offers some financial security in their retired lives. I had the privilege of working for 26 years for the state of California, and it brings me great peace of mind to know that I will receive a steady income throughout my retirement. I genuinely wish this same security for every hardworking individual.

I've always been perplexed by how the wealthy have managed to persuade people across various income brackets, from the poor to the low middle-class, middle-class, and even the upper middle-class, that their interests are being cared for. In reality, the wealthy primarily prioritize their own financial gain, often at the expense of their employees. In 1940, union membership was at around 50%, but today, it has dwindled to a mere 10%. It's astonishing to me when I engage in conversations with individuals who speak negatively about unions when they should instead be asking how they can establish a union at their own workplace.

Take, for instance, the remarkable journey of a company like UPS, which was founded in 1907 with a mere $100 and has since grown to generate an annual revenue of $85 billion. It's crucial to recognize that such success would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the workers who kept the business running day in and day out. Consequently, the owners, just like all owners will have a great life but workers rightfully deserve fair compensation for their contributions also.

It's essential to remember that many companies are often resistant to having a union within their organization. During my career, I've witnessed some colleagues who opted to join union jobs primarily for the benefits that others have fought for over the years, including medical coverage, vacation time, sick leave, retirement plans, etc. However (in my opinion) these employees wanted to free-load and benefit from these advantages without fully contributing through the payment of their union dues. because they could still receive all the benefits without fully participating in supporting the union. As in many aspects of life, unity and collective effort can lead to significant accomplishments.

  4. The member's still need to vote.

  5. They haven't even told us we are going back yet. I leave for strike duty shortly. We also do not have pension plans.

  6. Those companies will all fold soon and file Bk or get tax payer bailouts again. The dealerships are not selling cars. The average truck is 72k to $120k. The strike did not help in the end and car prices will just increase and cars are being banned in some states by 2025. States Going uber autonomous driven cars. Plus many car companies going hydrogen vs EV.

  7. Now car price will jump another 30,000 to pay the wages. Stop buying new cars.

  8. Fords just welcoming them back for the BIG…..GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALES EVENT. What business can stay in business where its employees earn and average of $300,000.00 a year. No business can and All of Fords products are beyond what anyone can afford. Sales are plunging. The prices include fords manmoth debts passed on in the price. The massive labor expense. The huge dealer markup. Your buying nothing but waste the consumers cant afford. Better off buying a horse and buggy.

  9. At least the awu will all afford new trucks and cars.

  10. New cars are already unaffordable what happens now.
