It took a federal jury just a few hours to convict Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, on seven counts of fraud and conspiracy. Bankman-Fried could spend the rest of his life in prison, as his attorney says his client maintains his innocence. CNBC’s Kate Rooney reports.

Who's buying that this is even all legit ? The man's name is Sam Bankman-Fried. Uncle Sam-Bank man (money business)-Fried (toasted, guilty for crime). So he's already appears to have been given a faux name for this surprising crime that nobody could have foreseen given his name. The coincedence that his name is such and ending up committing billions dollar crime and the odds of such is like winning the Powerball. And no, his last name isn't pronounced "freid, as in Freidman", it's "fried", as in fried chicken. But the media won't annousnce his name properly the way it should b.
