  1. guys cry in front of ICC to change the rules
this sort of discussion is no value, sounds like barking as the matter desolved by law

  2. The rule was there to prevent unnecessary delay, not fixing your helmet strap. That was the most cunning way to play cricket.

  3. He would have faced shakib with out helmet had he known shakib will appeal for that

  4. Shakib and Bangladesh have serious case of Napoleon syndrome. Petty people with petty mind.

  5. Mehtab Singh did not deserve to get sent off. Mitrovic was the one who should have been sent off in Mumbai. Talk about the spirit of football..

  6. There should be time indicator for viewers from now onwards. This will be interesting to see how much each player takes

  7. But this was a genuine equipment malfunction. Bangladesh was desperate, no way this would have been appealed by any other team in this tournament.

  8. Why are some people blaming Shakib for everything? Before pointing fingers at him, let's consider the following points:

    1. Mathews is a professional and senior player; he should be aware of the ICC's 2-minute rule. His behavior suggested he might not have been familiar with this rule.

    2. Being an experienced player, Mathews should ensure the condition of his equipment. If his helmet was defective, he should have replaced it before going onto the pitch.

    3. Facing a spinner with a defective or no helmet is undoubtedly not a safety concern.

    4. Once on the pitch, if Mathews noticed his helmet was defective, he should have approached the umpire for permission before leaving to get a new one.

    5. This was not a simple match for Bangladesh. It was a do-or-die situation if they wanted to qualify for the Champions Trophy, and the same applied to Sri Lanka.

    6. When a team has lost six consecutive matches, the captain may do everything within the bounds of the law to turn things around. And sakib did so.

  9. Mathews could have just informed umpire and opposing captain that he wants a change of helmet. Basic mistake by Mathews and nothing unfair happened to him as he was out as per laws of the game

  10. Ask ICC to change rules if that hamper spirit of cricket !🥴
    so many crocodile cry !

  11. Btw he took the guard and there's a helmet protocol as well, a batsman doesn't have to face the ball if there's any issue regarding his helmet. While taking guard he noticed his helmet straps, which was broken

  12. Shakib Al Hasan should have withdrawn his appeal and let Angelo Mathews play in the spirit of game

  13. This made me remember a video of Grace Harris smashing a six and her bat broken in WBBL, after shouting “Hey guys, I think I need to change my bat”
