NBC News’ Harry Smith joined America’s Automotive Trust on their cross-country road trip in vintage station wagons. The group works to preserve historic automobiles and encourage young people to take a look under the hood as they venture through the country to Detroit.

I grew up in the 70{s and 80’s before the mini van. I thought station wagons were so cool because of the big open area in the bac. I wished my parents had bought one. Instead we had an Oldsmobile Delta 88. 😂 I use to lay in the window of the back seat. Obviously didn’t have the seat belt laws then nor car seats! 😎
Those were the good old days!
Adding more carbon to the atmosphere by driving around pointlessly. So Boomer.
To me, there's the Chevy Nomad and the AMC Eagle.
Otherwise, give me a mid sized SUV.
Today we just call it a 'crossover' and pretend that's somehow cooler
We had an old Ford station wagon, until we traded it in for a new 62' VW BUS!!!
Cool.
Half of the small SUVs look like station wagons 😂
I LOVE my 93 Corolla wagon! 280K miles.
Just put a newish motor in it. 90K miles now. Lots of new parts!
Also, it has a huge Sears car carrier on top! Plus it has LOTS of room inside.
Also, I have a solar panel on the hood with a deep cycle battery, charge controller and inverter for electricity! I have an electric Dometic refrigerator for trips. So much better than ice melting!
Did I mention I have a tow ball and I can tow my 5×8 utility trailer and haul up to 1500 lbs!
Toyota wagons for the win!
Oh yea… it's 30 years old now so there's no inspection anymore here in NC!!!
Got new tires yesterday!
As a precaution, I put reflective barricade tape on it so nobody will hit me! Watch my video "$35 car insurance."
My neighbor across the street still has one. Buick Regal Estate Wagon 1996.
Station wagons really need a comeback when everything's electric.
Used to own 84 Buick Electra estate wagon in 99'. Tough car..no break downs at all
Let's Be Real: All those people in the U.S. streets and college campuses protesting for Hamas are all registered to vote in the Democrat Party and are all voting for Biden
