Yes, hyper-modern invoicing, staffing, ERP, SCM, CRM, PM, etc are a bit complicated. Everything becomes an information system. Unfortunately, they are notoriously difficult to implement. Lighthiser is a conspiracy theorist that has no real acumen and experience in international trade and is the cause of the US current inflationary period and the tensions between the US and China. Before Kudlow worked for Trump, he supported trade with China and then did a 180 to please his bossman, Donald Trump. Kudlow also espoused the Smoot Hawley Tariff Act, the 1930 Act that sent our nation into the Great Depression as similar to Lighthiser's USTR 232 and 301 tariffs that are opposed by almost every national business association including the highly conservative Koch Brothers' Foundation.
Lighthiser hasn't a clue what he's talking about and will not debate the real experts in trade, the captains of industry that built this nation. I am a three decade top international commodity trader in trade and know a little bit about trade with China. We have had no problems with trade and there is, unlike what you'll hear from the Trump gang, a large trade surplus with China, not a trade deficit.
China bought as much from the US as a percentage of their GDP and the US bought from China as a percent of our GDP. About 2% of the entire US GDP, a moot point yet the Trump sycophants want you to believe that everything that is bought in the US originates from China. Not true as one can see by the math. The US is the least dependent on trade than all G20 nations and the second from the bottom of all nations on earth so what Lighthiser states is complete BS. Lighthizer is a typical Washington, DC lawyer who thinks he knows it all. To us experts, he knows nothing and shouldn't be given airtime to make up things that are untrue.
Nobody wants bad things to happen to China, Taiwan is a Chinese problem not American. If China wants to attack Philippines or India or our ships in open waters then that’s another story.
