A debate has erupted on X over whether the death of a 15-year-old white Las Vegas boy who was severely beaten by 15 other boys is related to race.
Jonathan Lewis Sr., the father of Jonathan Lewis Jr., told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday that his son was attacked near Rancho High School on Nov. 1st after he “stood up for one of his smaller friends.”
“A couple [of people] attacked him, and they weren’t able to hurt him enough, and they all attacked him at once,” Lewis Sr. added.
Lewis Jr. was subsequently hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after local authorities found him bleeding from the head.
About a week later on Tuesday, Nov. 7th, the boy died.
While the police have yet to identify any suspects, video footage of the attack shows what appear to be a number of black boys attacking Lewis Jr.
