If you think a teacher getting paid $60,000 a year has any say in how a curriculum is executed and taught then you need to do more research.
Get rid of teacher unions and, the federal department of education. Give students the choice of having vouchers to attend charter schools, which actually produce results. Force parents to sign contracts with public schools to attend one on one sessions with the teachers at least twice every marking period so there are no surprises at the of the school year if they're failing to get passing grades. End the mindless nonsense of not suspending disruptive kids who make the environment impossible for teachers to teach the kids who actually care. Make national basic skills testing mandatory a requirement for advancing to the next grade. Don't continue forcing teachers to jump through endless hoops for teacher certifications. They don't need graduate degrees, and endless continuing education to teach elementary/secondary school.
These people misrepresent how unions work. The teachers' unions don't hire teachers or develop lesson plans or train teachers to set curriculum. They represent teachers. Their income is from dues withheld from teachers' pay. The unions don't get rewards. Even someone who failed the third grade knows this. They just want to blame the teachers' unions for the failure of others to take a low blow swipe at teachers' unions meanwhile ignoring the real reasons for the poor performance of students. Shameful.
Check the curriculum. What do the teachers teach ? Are parents “allowed ti observe classes. Are there parent/teacher meetings ?
Giving money to parents would be a stretch.
One of the reasons is that smartphones and computers do the math and reading, and stop acting like there is only one solution for everything.
the problem is also that kids isn't tort values at home any more . They are being cared for by TV and Social media the kids don't play outdoors any more . They are being socialised to be alone. It's a very sad development
