Thank you NBC News, for bringing us this report about Israel's abusive policies to prisoners and their use of mass incarceration as a tool for repression of a population. We need to hear more about what Palestinians are suffering – crucial context for what happened on Oct 7th. That date was one terrible and criminal moment of violence in a long history of criminal actions, but on that day the roles were reversed and the victim became the perpetrator. Normally it is Israel torturing, killing, and destroying, both in Gaza and the West Bank, and our mainstream media does not report it. There is so little reporting in the West on Israel's daily crimes against Palestinians throughout the year, most of the public really believed the Hamas attack came "out of the blue"! That is a huge failure in our mainstream media; this report is a small step toward addressing that failure. More is needed.
