Politicians and judges should not be allowed to have this kind of control over citizens health. They are not doctors, taking away a woman's right over her own body should be unconstitutional because it is definitely inhumane!!!!¡
All of these stories sound like a precursor to that movie with Clive Owen called “Children of Men” where all women eventually stopped being able to have babies so new generations were not being created. Something is happening to women everywhere
Brutal
It is crazy that the states with the highest crime rate and child @buse cases banned @bortion.
C'mon, Pro-Lifers!! SHOW YOUR DAMN FACES.
WHAT A SAD STORY THIS COMES FROM REPUBLICANS & CATHOLICS PUSHING THEIR OWN BELIEFS ONTO OTHERS. FOLKS NEED TO GET OUT IN VOTE. ALTHOUGH ALTHOUGH MY CHILDREN ARE GROWN & I'M NOT HAVING ANYMORE BABIES. US WOMEN HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO AS WE PLEASE W/ OUR BOBIES. IN MY STATE THEY'RE LEGAL THANK GOODNESS YEAH MF'S GOT OUT & VOTED FOR THIS ISSUE. I'M ALL FOR PRO CHOICE BUT DON'T USE IT AS A FORM OF BC. WHAT WAS THE OUT COME OF THEIR STORY
The is so so sad
Sooooo…..did she die?
This is criminal behavior by the state. They put her in danger. Doctors should be held liable as well. They should defy the law and save lives.
If you dont trust God then you dont have options.
This is ridiculous, the USA is killing women
That's a big gal and that itself doesn't help.
Why won't it air on regular cable or just about everywhere? This is more important than celebrities dancing or showing off their lavish lives on reality shows or shows about zombies and sex starved teens.
But, she didn't die within the next 3 days. What was the pregnancy out come? Where's the end of the story?
my heart goes out to you.
This is heartbreaking and I am so sorry they had to go through this. none of it was okay.
Doctors are being forced to go against their hypocritical oath to do no harm or face criminal charges. By the doctor discharging her he was potentially putting her in grave danger but I can't blame the doctor because the laws have criminalized doctors following their oath to do no harm. Until every lawmaker that votes on these kinds of laws has a doctorate in medicine they need to stay out of this.
No 1 realizes that not only is this not okay and not fair to the woman it is also not okay and not fair to the doctors especially especially especially because the laws are so vague they don't constitute when a woman's life is in danger there's too much of a gray area there so the doctors are forced to err on the side of caution as they do not face losing their medical license and being criminally charged. This is not fair this is not okay and if it keeps up soon there's not going to be any doctors practicing obstetrics and gynecology.
Let me remind everyone that no one want an abortion especially if it is a wanted pregnancy they don't want their child to have a congenital or fatal fetal abnormality so severe that the most humane and best option for all involved is termination. No doctor wants to tell their patients that termination is the best thing or sometimes the only thing that's going to save a mother's life. No one wants to be in a position or termination is their only option. No one wants an abortion.
What if doctors are not always right?
This is clearly on the doctors if they don't treat her. Florida law is clear that you can perform an induction to protect the life and physical health of the mother. Even Texas put it into law that Premature Rupture of Membranes constitutes grounds for induction and doctors cannot be liable for that. Seems clear this is on the doctors. Also, she turned out fine
Florida law states that ending the pregnancy is LEGAL if this requirement is met:
390.0111
a) Two physicians certify in writing that, in reasonable medical judgment, the termination of the pregnancy is necessary to save the pregnant woman’s life or avert a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman other than a psychological condition.
I think it's up to the doctors to realize that PROM meets that criteria! Even Texas put it into law that doctors are not liable if the mother has PROM and they end the pregnancy through induction. It seems clear that there would be no prosecution that goes anywhere. Doctors can do it!
Also, the lady turned out fine! Where are all of the ladies with PROM dying left and right do to doctors turning them away? They aren't, because the doctors understand the law and are inducing labor and protecting both the mother and the baby.
The media is trying to spin this to get abortion legal at a federal level. Yes, perhaps more info needs to be shared about PROM so doctors realize they won't be prosecuted, and that's why texas put it into law, to stop any confusion.
Literally WHO CARES!
This should not be public knowledge or discussed in public!!
Keep your private issue PRIVATE!!
Republicans did this!! CONServatives did this!! They are ruthless monsters for this!! Vote accordingly people!!
5 miscarriages is a sign, condom
Not saying this womens feelings and fears are not valid. But her diagnosis is not necessarily a death sentence. Although i don't know the details and everyone is different. But my water broke at 19 weeks and i carried baby to 37 weeks. I have a healthy 10 month old now. Would be curious to know the details on her case specifically. Like did baby survive? What ended up happening?
