The other 'elephant in the room' most people aren't aware of is the cost of maintenance on these vehicles, and the control that the manufacturer retains even after the purchase. You don't have to look far to find multiple stories of EV owners incurring repair costs > $20k to replace or repair the battery system. Many that chose not to ended up getting locked out of their own vehicles! Don't forget the rolling brown-outs that states like California implement when the demand for power exceeds capacity. At that point, you're not going anywhere, and good luck trying to feed your family when none of the electric appliances the Biden administration is trying to force us to buy don't work! These initiatives are about gaining control, not saving the climate.
