As millions of people gather for the holiday weekend, health officials are reporting that respiratory illnesses are on the rise. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said weekly flu hospital admissions are increasing and Covid-19 cases are also rising across the United States. NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch reports.

How come all these people who get all these shots and wear masks still get sick???! 🙄 Look at China. They live with masks on and still thousands still got sick and yet continues to spread. Ummmm, maybe because…. We’ll use your brain folks. It’s a false sense of security. Whatever floats your boat 🚤 🤷🏼 not judging, just being logical.

I just got sick on Wednesday and most of my illness has gone away except for breathing problems and extreme coughing. It’s no joke. You never know what people have out there. Protect yourself and do what’s right for your health. Stop listening to people who scold you for wearing a mask.

I had long covid for about 6 months, and I had respiratory issues. I could literally feel my heart muscles when touching my chest and sometimes it was very difficult to breathe with just simple things such as walking, and walking up the stairs. It was scary, and one day something told me to do the sauna for 15 minutes a day at least 4 days out of the week. After 1 week of doing this I noticed a little improvement. After 4 weeks major improvement. The next month I went to 20 minutes and after 3 months or it could have been 2, but I was able to cure my long covid issue. I was normal again. I share this story because I hope it can help someone else who's struggling with similar issuues. And this was 2 years ago. And I'm no doctor I'm just saying this helped me and with a little exercise as well

I've been terribly sick in Michigan. I tested positive for COVID on December 5th I had an ear infection and my doctor called in an antibiotic. Now on the 24th I still have a fever though I'm testing negative for COVID. I still have a wet cough. I've never felt closer to death than that 2nd week I was sick. Maybe I have RSV as well.
In all seriousness, if ur sick, wearing a mask in PUBLIC POPULATED AREAS isn’t a horrible suggestion.
Mask do help stop spreading common colds and flus (I’m not even gonna mention Covid cuz y’all are sensitive).
If u wanna wear a mask when ur sick, go ahead, just use common sense and decency to not get others sick.
If u don’t wanna wear one or get vaccines, then don’t.
Again just try not to get others sick (u know how to do that, don’t even try to argue about it)
Notice Alabama is like dark red, when you go through any town in Alabama you'll see at least 20 churches. And oh God we're not going to wear a mask and bring the drooling baby into the church to make sure all the elderly get deathly ill. That's why Alabama is so dark red is cuz of all the people going to churches for Christmas they may get closer to the by going to church to see a drooling baby a major spreader event

I took a very long poop today. I am concerned it could be COVID. The waste water data in showing an increase. Probably gonna be masking up for a while now.
I was sick all day and night yesterday. Hot n cold, super sweaty, did not want to get out of bed because was so weak and fatigue. But today(a day later) I’m doing a A O K. Last time I was sick like that was the first wave of Covid… same symptoms..as of right now I have lots of mucus deep from within my lungs it feels. Because when I caugh or get the feeling to caugh I don’t wanna because it hurts my head.
Bring a personal hand sanitizer. Use it after eating in public, getting to go, at gas stations and going to pubic restrooms. This should help avoid getting sick most of the time
Please everyone just get vaccinated and this shouldn’t be a problem.

In China three months ago was an respiratory illness outbreak, and it came here, as people travel back and forth from China to America in the mist of an outbreak! This is madness… It was reported about the respiratory illness outbreak in China 3 months ago and no travel ban was put into effect to keep it from going globe… Why? Our government doesn't take illnesses from China serious, now it's here… again.👀
Who cares about this? The CDC? They let this happen. It would be nice to know if its the same strain as in China moving forward 😢.

There is definitely something bad going around. I have some sort of respiratory illness that is giving me a fever and kept me in bed, and looks like I’m gonna be spending Christmas watching YouTube and stuff. It’s so bad here in Chicago that it took me two days to get an urgent care appointment, because the doctors and other care providers at the urgent care places are out sick. And I tested negative for Covid and flu, and I’m vaccinated against both of those as well as RSV.
