Authorities continue to search for a woman from Eagle River, Alaska after she fell through the ice while trying to save one of her dogs who went into the river. KTUU’s Lex Yelverton reports.

No one should be out there under such conditions, you can’t see what’s under your feet. Hope there was no foul play. RIP to the wonderful woman and her beloved dog.
This is so sad. I’m a dog mom …not a dog owner. I totally understand her instinct to just go and save her fur baby. I hope people be careful of their words …please don’t be judgmental and respect the fact that some of us love our dogs in ways that other humans can’t understand. I’m so heartbroken hearing this story…💔… My condolences to the family… and everyone affected by this tragedy. …. ✨✨ May your next lifetime…be filled with infinite blessings… and may the two of you meet again✨✨✨

Sorry this happened to her, but your life is worth more than a Dog. I get its a family member (non human) and that's well and great, but PLEASE don't put your life on the line. This is the NICEST way I can say this. Got all these good people trying to find these 2 over a dog that can be replaced, but not the same, but definitely can't replace your life. RIP Lady

her bones will be found when the weather gets better. Another reason to have your dog on a leash and never go into water where the water feels like fire on the skin even in the Summer months. I know this as I had to have a bath in lakes like that when I was mining for gold. Water feels like fire on the skin instantly.

Risking your life to save a dog is idiocy – this is a Darwin Award. Hope she didn't have kids; if she did, she loved the dog more than she loved them, was happy to make them orphans to try to save a stupid mutt.

so sad….this just goes to show you its just an animal it can be replaced…but not human life…just saw another video of some lady on a highway trying to save a dog like what is wrong with people its obviously not worth your life for an animal that only lives like max 15- 20yrs…………
