A lot of people are talking about the Constitution as if it is the supreme moral code. I think the founding fathers would be rolling over in their graves over this. The creator endows people with their rights, not the Constitution/government. The Constitution and in particular the Bill of Rights in particular were only created to firmly defend those rights (at the federal level and later expanded to all levels through supremacy clause). I don't believe people who support the removal of Trump from the ballot interpret the law and events that happened in good faith. I'll only mention that when you deny people who cherish their rights their voice in governance, and when that governance infringes their god given rights, those people are going to eventually figure out a different, perhaps more forceful, path to reclaim their rights.
It looks like the US Supreme Court needs to address this issue because of Michigan's ruling. You now have conflicting rulings.
Insurrection is just a fancy word word for an armed rebellion, or a revolution. They use this word specifically, because people don’t really know what it means and calling a protest of people who had no weapons an “armed rebellion” is ridiculous.

Who is going to tell the States, who they can or cannot put on their ballots? SCOTUS can’t do that. Every State manages and runs their own elections according to the methods outlined in the Constitution. Every State is supreme in this regard. Michigan has a State law that says each Party determines who is to be on the States Primary ballot.
No one should tell any US citizen who to vote for; selecting who is and who is not on the ballot is the same as telling US citizens who to vote for it's Unconstitutional!!
