The search for Amanda Rodgers, a woman who went missing after falling under ice in Anchorage, Alaska has concluded, according to Alaska state troopers. Rodgers disappeared under a frozen river while trying to save her dog.

A child I can understand but a dog? You had a husband and four sons, this is just so sad.
If you fall through the ice in a LAKE, you stand a chance of being rescued (Provided you're with someone, or damned knowledgeable about recovering from being soaked in below-freezing temps).
If you fall through a RIVER, unless your companions instantly anchor and pull you out, there is no hope of survival. To throw away her life for a Dog, leaving behind a husband and children? That is the tragedy.
So, I’m gonna throw this in for those of you who are all worked up about “should she have or not”: Who besides the husband was there with her? Is this his account? Is there anyone else to verify that what is being reported, actually took place. Just Good ‘Ol Hubbsies and the remaining dog ?? Hmmm🤔……and how long had they been married? ….. another hmmm. And why this specific location, with the not-completely-frozen water? Wonder what the life insurance payout is and if there’s a secret girl or man friend 😮 Yikesies
I would have done the same as her. Dogs are part of the family and it's like saving a family member. If people think it's stupid to even TRY to save a dog, you've never loved a pet in your life. Or you're just heartless.
