PARENTS are REAPING what they've SOWN.
If you don’t move now they’ll make you a day late and a dollar short
Why can't that be both? That's the problem with America. Everything is either all or nothing. Yes, parents are of course responsible, but sometimes that's not enough and society should offer a support system for everyone. That's why we pay taxes.

Yes. 🤯 It's a societal issue that is caused by the government's unwillingness to address corporate reign over the population that pushes a habit of social media that is taking the place of an ACTIVE social life that nobody has time for anymore. Seriously. How do they expect people to interact with anyone they aren't working with when they're always working or asleep? How do your child they can't have friends because you have no time to take them anywhere?
Throughout history (most) parents have done little or nothing to prepare kids for life in the real world. Incompetent parenting is handed down from one generation to the next, for millennia. The job of parenting doesn't end when the kid turns 18 or 21, it's only getting started.
If you're relying on mommy government to keep your own kids from becoming dumbed down and depressed, you're definitely the problem and certainly not the solution.

Don't go stifling your kids' interests just because you're scared; you might be keeping them from their passion.
let's say you tell your kids, they can only use their phones for two hours a day. the rest of the day you put them in the retaining box. at what age do you lay down the law? and what happens if you do it all of a sudden? how do you tame a lion…from birth or it's too late. people are the same. if you give them no structure, it's too hard to give it to them later on. the law and parents overlap when a child has a fit of rage and the cops are called because the parents won't give them back the phone.
Can you give me one example of where government involvement was or is a positive thing? The government has no business being involved in the family unit! It’s the family members who should step up and help any parent that needs it!

Funny. Dems want to control social media when it comes to conservative content, but when it comes to content proven to have negative impacts on our young people, it's just fine – "leave it to the adults to take care of it." Right.

Government or corporations? That is a more useful, false dichotomy.
The government must protect their citizens from things that bring harm through lies and deceit. Protecting free speech is important, but it's important to also protect the flip side of this. None should be allowed to bring harm to others through social media. We see prosecution's when a young person commits suicide because of the bullying so we do have a line that is crossed as far as free speech. There's everything wrong with allowing anything and all to be said. Freedom only comes from the laws that we have to protect it. That in itself is against the nature of freedom. We must have an agreeable sense of order and laws that protect this. Freedom is only great when you can trust those that are free. Do you trust in our society?
Why not both?
