Biden’s loan forgiveness set me back a decade. Initially my $6500 balance was forgiven and I was refunded the $4500 worth of Covid deferment payments (I kept making my payments throughout Covid) only to get a letter in the mail 6 months later saying I now owe $11000. I almost exploded. Had I continued to make my monthly payments the whole time, my loan would be almost paid off today. What did I do with that $4500 originally refunded to me? Put it along with my savings to buy a house. Biden royally screwed me.
