WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – After strong pushback from some residents earlier this year, plans for a development that will place homes and townhouses on 79 acres of farmland in rural Northfield Township sailed through a final approval process.

The township’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously Tuesday, Sept. 28, to approve the final planned-unit development and rezoning request from Howell-based Chestnut Development, LLC at its regularly scheduled meeting.

  2. This has happened a lot in the past year. Rip

  3. Natural gas is colorless and has no natural smell at all! If natural gas leaks under ground or under the foundation of your home it Will filter Out the added Rotten Egg Smell and still be explosive as it builds inside your attic and walls.

  4. When I learned of this I was blown away. It really affected me. Not as much as this family, but it did.

  5. They all blast away.. 😢

  6. I think this is the third time I’ve heard about something similar recently. So scary your house can suddenly obliterate

  7. I’ve been seeing a lot of house explosions in the news lately. Especially in the Midwest and East coast. This is really concerning

  8. Kinda odd in the USA there's been 3 big house explosions in a month.. interesting seems plotted

  9. Our entire valley runs on wood heat and propane with large tank kept outside, serviced by the same large delivery company. Propane is heavier than air, but for this to occur you'd need to contain it within a basement/garage and have an ingnition source, AND not notice the smell. We have three boilers on propane, and they have sensors to shut down in the event of no ignition, but gas feed. Maintenance is critical.

  10. Propane Bobby, propane. …. Nothing to mess around with. The very idea that we somehow think that we've "harnessed" explosive non-liquid gas is ridiculous. Natural gas isn't any better. I've had 2 farm houses and I could never get over the fact that at the larger house I had a 1000 gallon tank of propane less than 50' from the house. Not that the distance means anything. Because if that exploded it would take out everything at ground level for at least 1000'. I'm not a "green" energy guy but pressurized gas is not the safest choice. I actually feel bad for the survivors. Tragic. 😧😳🥺

  11. Seems to be a lot of gas explosions lately. Are these people being taken out or is this just a random accident?

  12. I have a friend who lost almost her whole family in a house fire when we were in high school. She is almost 40 now and is still healing.

  13. They better start investigating these natural gas suppliers and find out why these are happening! They messing with people's gas pressure in our homes or what?

  14. How are all these houses exploding ?

  15. Please remove the ending. So inappropriate for the dude to thank us for watching when its about loved ones passing away. Dont you think?

  16. Why are so many houses exploding?

  17. Rest in Peace family 🙏🙏🙏!

  18. Pray for them please everyone.❤🙏

  19. They had a propane tank, so they probably had a gas water heater in the basement. A gas leak could've accumulated in the basement and the pilot flame from the water heater could've been the ignition it needed to set it off. The whole basement would've been the "bomb!"

  20. So many houses explode this year

  21. It looks like it was a UFO

  22. That is terrible. Just goes to show you how precious life can be so hug your loved ones while you still have time.

  23. With an explosion that big would mean an enormous amount of gas was leaking into the basement and as such it is amazing no one smelt it! So, I am lead to believe it was intentional done and that the people were unable to turn off the gas. As for a leak like that it would have had to Esther be going on for a long long time or just suddenly happened!

  24. That’s meth’d up.

  25. seen alot of house "explosions" with in a year. Remember the Gov. has drones. just saying.

  26. Deepest condolences to the families. That’s a weird explanation. Hmm

  27. Why are all these houses exploding??? Freaky!

  28. They should start limiting gas use as much as possible.

  29. How does that happen?

    …"fuel air explosion" 🤔

  30. The only time i've seen a house like this flatten was after an EF-5 tornado.

  31. WoW, that place was Obliterated. RIP.

  32. I have an old home on some property I want to redevelop but the county won’t let me tear it down because I’m within an historical boundary. I think it’s going to develop a gas leak in the coming weeks…

  33. why are so many house explosions happening

  34. Gas leak. Propane is heavier than air stayed low in basement, until found source of ignition. ( pilot lite on water heater?)

  35. This has been a regular occurrence over the last yea. More than a doesn't of these explosions and not only during the winter which people have thought is what has been the cause.

  36. This happened this past year in the small town I live in in WA state. Turns out it was a man welding in his garage that also had a large canister of propane in it. His house was demolished, and several homes nearby had significant damage. He was the only one killed. Very tragic.

  37. Extraterrestrials maybe?

  38. This is why its good to add the sulfur smell to gas lines to smell gas leaks.

Natural gas has no smell and that's scary!

You simply go plug your phone in and BOOM!

  39. The tragic story is immediately followed by a thanks for watching. It feels extremely out of touch.

  40. L 😂 Way to bring in 2024

  41. My prayers goes out to the victim family rip
