  1. The phrase "leading it", may be misleading.

  2. Ohhh…how hard the mighty can fall……

  3. Dear ignorant who are happy he retired because they think the NRA is the pro-gun force that's keeping guns alive in the U.S.: LaPierre represents the boomercon base that post videos online of themselves cutting their crappy Vietnam area AR in half. And although the NRA has helped with some pro-gun legislation, they don't bring anywhere near the amount of cases to court as other organizations that rightfully restore gun rights, in turn expanding gun ownership. Furthermore if the NRA wants to continue as an organization they will need to start pivoting from their dying boomer base, a base for which I will reiterate, moves the Overton window away from the right to protect yourself and loved ones to being dependent on law enforcement which hopefully is successful doing so, to a younger base that grew up with first person shooter videos games and are more pro-gun than the previous generations. Or if they don't pivot and die off with the boomercons, the organizations you don't hear of will fill the void and rise to prominence. Then instead of partaking in assisting legislation that infringes on gun rights, they will fight that legislation even seeing the light of day, and be able to do even more in court when bills do get through because their base and finances will have massively grown. The pay off will not be immediate but it won't take long for an acceleration in the restoring of rights.
