A judge has sentenced a former Colorado police officer to 14 months in prison after the officer was convicted in the killing of Elijah McClain. This comes after a jury found the officer guilty of criminally negligent homicide on third-degree assault.

Just lying on his report would get him more than that.
I was in the courtroom for this, and while of course this isn't enough time, it's worth noting that the judge really did give what was essentially the maximum. His hands were tied at a max of 3 yrs DOC, and he explained that you earn good time in DOC, you can parole, and he would also be eligible for community corrections. In jail there is no good time, no parole and no ComCor option. But again, of course this isn't enough.

So…based on nothing more than your employment, you can snatch an innocent person off the street, hold them against their will, call a third party to give them a lethal injection
