The first winter storm of the new year moved through the eastern United States. The storm brought heavy snow to Pennsylvania earlier on Saturday before moving into New York City. NBC News’ George Solis has the details.

❄ Winter is here with a bang! The first storm of the year sweeping through the Northeast – nature's way of welcoming us to 2024. Stay warm and safe, everyone! Who else is enjoying the cozy vibes indoors or braving the snow for some winter fun?
I grew up up in Arkansas in 60’s-70’s. Moved to Dallas, Houston, Michigan. Lived in Michigan 15 years didn’t like shoveling snow. Moved back to Arkansas 6 years ago. I’m not driving in bad weather, people need to stay home not drive in this winter mess.

I live in a farming community. Stores were still stocked with food and supplies. They should announce that winter is a season. No panic or emergency here.
