Humpback whales form Fibonacci spiral in Antarctica waters

Drone footage of hunting whales shows an example of the Fibonacci spiral occurring in nature, where the two whales can be seen working together to create a bubble net surrounding fish.

Bubble-net feeding is usually observed in groups of four or five humpback whales, where the whales dive down several hundred feet, releasing a stream of air bubbles in a spiral pattern โ€œat a precise moment and in an exact sequence,” according to research.

  1. They're using bubbles to trap food. Calm down people.

  2. Amazing ๐Ÿ˜ฎโคโคโค

  3. They must have had beans, thats a mas amount of gas

  4. But I don't see too many fish, the hell's going on here๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  5. The air bubbles drop fish and make them rise to the surface, then the whales open their giant mouth, and get a whole school of fish.

  6. "GOD" leaves proof of his perfect creation for all genarations to experience, we must choose to do so.
BEAUTIFUL, thank you heavenly father, in the name of your son & our lord & savior, Jesus Christ…..amen.

  7. does anyone know what this song is called?

  8. I love this because they're making a bubble "net" to corral fish into a bait ball for easier eating. I've never seen them make one in the Fibonacci sequence. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

  9. I bet the baby whales are like, this is bullish. We could be playing switch instead

  10. I love this but you don't need to call every spiral a Fibonacci spiral to drive engagement on your posts. Fibonacci spirals are well defined and this is not one. It doesn't add anything to the video to make up bullshit like " ooh, the whales are following some pseudo-spiritual mathematical sacred geometry gobbledygook"

  11. This is amazing! So beautiful โค

  12. It's crazy because everything forms as a circle when you look at life like certain shells and stuff and this looks just like that…amazing

  13. I'm surprised that some liberal hasn't deemed this "inequitable" to the surrounding fish — you know, "whale supremacy" and all that…

  14. That's how they capture fish

  15. Bubble cage to concentrate the krill for lunch.

  16. Sad Humans Will End All There is with nature. Take in Nature now.

  17. How did they learn that?….When did they learn that?….And what if they changed what would happen?….It's probably the best way….They mastered it and don't think about it anymore …They just know it's the best way ๐Ÿ’–

  18. All whales live in the ocean.
    But could drown… Go figure.

  19. Someone send this to @brosancheztv and see what he thinks of this! ๐Ÿ‘€

  20. The universe is all connected under One Creator.

  21. I just thank God we still have humpback whales

  22. I want this on Apple Music so bad

  23. This is mysterious and breathtaking and humans better clean up their act or weโ€™re going to permanently ruin this planet for all the more intelligent creatures.

  24. Good job sharing MSNBC! ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. Stop calling every spiral formation a Fibonacci spiral. this formation simply closes in to gather fish and or krill into a smaller spot for maximum feeding. there is no relation to the math that Fibonacci did.
more impressively however is the fact that these whales seemed to do two simultaneous spirals at varying speeds to end up how they did. the outer spiral had to me moving faster to get around to the other side before the inner one did. this also proves that those are two very different spirals from each other not to mention how different they are from the Fibonacci one.
the Fibonacci sequence does appear in nature yes.(not the spiral but the sequence) and it is mostly with plants and their distribution with leaves and seeds to cover maximum surface area.

  26. WOW, this is a very intelligent species

  27. Itโ€™s not a Fibonacci spiral, not any where close
