that is nonsense about locking items up being a deterrent to sales. the problem is these greedy corporate retailers do not have associates that know what they are doing, or they just don't want to help customers (at least where i live). Home Depot used to be great 30 years ago, they hired retired contractors, plumbers, electricians, and they were very helpful (not anymore). I went to local Lowe's store and I had some basic questions about equpipment, I didn't realize the sales associate was being pushed just to stock shelves (they dont' make commissions anymore), so he got frustrated and just told me to "order it through Lowe's online". I said I will, on Amazon! and I told the manager and left.
Absolutely correct but the shoplifters are merely taking a leaf out of the Elite's playbook. The Elites commit crime on a massive scale and also get off scot free.

In Hennepin County, MN December 2023, I called Sheriff's dispatch to report a robbery at Home Depot. The dispatcher told me that as an eyewitness, I am not allowed to report a crime. Only the victim can report a crime. WTF?? True story.
No one in the media will say it. But the ones doing this lawless acts are mostly/99% " reparation seekers".
