The U.S. embassy in Colombia is urging Americans not to use dating apps while in the country after a string of deaths in tourist hotspots. Many criminals are using the sites to lure victims, according to officials.

Passport boys got caught lacking
No one will listen to this. Men have been warned about this in Colombia for years but they believe it can't happen to them. I started going to Colombia when people warned me it was dangerous and I acknowledged the risk. These guys who go now are in denial of it.

Some of the comments display a misconception. Passport Bros are black men who are fed up with racism in America. Not Asians, for whom America bends over backwards. Furthermore, in the past, when BM met a similar fate Colombia, it wasn't worthy of an alert. Now, that an Asian has met the same fate, there's a sense of urgency? Okay.
I visited Colombia about 15 years ago – Medellin and Cartagena and it was a wonderful experience. I went with my boyfriend. The people were warm, genuine and friendly. It saddens me to know it’s gotten this way. My condolences to the victims’ families.

It seems Colombia has become the Thailand and Philippines of Latin America. A lot of older white men and black Americans are going there to find young, attractive women. If you're not equally attractive yourself, chances are high that you're going to be used for your money or chance to come to America. It's no surprise that these men go to such poorer nations where women are desperate, instead of richer ones like Singapore and Japan.

My fellow brothers traveling to Colombia please do NOT think that by coming to Colombia suddenly makes you irresistible to beautiful woman ESPECIALLY if you cannot speak Spanish it’s hard to build a good honest relationship with a woman if you cannot speak their language! If you do decide to travel here to Medellin and date please watch your drink and DONT use apps like tinder I personally know woman who scam/Rob tourist on that app it’s sad and don’t fall for woman being super friendly it’s a red flag
Dating apps and dating websites are scammers paradise. Never use any of them, you best just go out and find a real date in the wild or just go hang out with singles in your area and the chances of you meeting your match may happen.
