Think its interesting how most of the people who are passing judgement have never or would never put themselves in harms way period; especially the DOJ. Plenty of law enforcement positions open if any of those people want set the example. There were definite mistakes, but never know how or why your going to act under that kind of stress and in a tragic situation.
It took them all this time? "Significant failure" – no kidding…. and they get paid for that? The rest of the world knew right away.

What happened to SWAT armored police vehicles, doesn’t Texas have any for their police depts for such emergencies? Think about this.., 300 Spartans took on thousands of Philistines and they(Spartans) all died over that battle, yet 400 well-armed Cops wearing bullet proof vests backed down from 1 armed man who was given time to go around shooting at school children. It doesn't take a 2 year report to figure out what should never have happened.

No kidding! We need to get the civilians out of law enforcement, we need them involved only to fund departments. Vivian’s need to mind their own business and let experienced law officers inform them of what is needed in order to get the job done. Busy bodies in different disciplines such as health and welfare need to butt out. Let police do their jobs (including determining good or appropriate individuals for the job) once that is done then the other disciplines should step in. You let a plumber tell a doctor how to run a clinic or how to inform a person he has a certain disease. We have let the separate disciplines overlap to the point that workers think they need to do a little bit of everything to the point of not being sure of the point of their jobs. Law enforcement is about two things enforcing the law and the safety of the citizens. Other things are secondary and should not interfere with primary considerations.
Governor Greg Abbott should be embarrassed and ashamed at his miserable failing to the community of Uvalde. "It was a cascade of failures" Pitiful excuses: "we couldn't get in". Nobody thought to break a window, kick in the door; they couldn't find the keys; police chief Arredondo had no radio. The stupidity just gets worse. Afterwards: children with bullet wounds put on buses, a victim 'triaged' on a walkway was left there to die. Some parents were told their children survived–they hadn't. And, on, and on, and on. Add insult to injury Abbott continued to try to BS and continually tried to cover and protect that miserable excuse for a police chief Pete Arredondo. 77 seconds fearing for their lives would have been terrifying for those children—it went on for 77 TERRIFYING MINUTES . Abbott is a disgrace and represents an ugly side of the Republican Party which is, today, all too prevalent. We all know what the obvious "what if this community was… " question is. Abbott is a failure as a governor. All the people of Texas deserve better. It could be a great state again–without the likes of Abbott and Arredondo.
The people that knew and were aware of that POS’s plan should be held accountable IMO.
Guns violence/accidents are the number one killer of children and teens. The fact that our teachers and children no longer feel safe in America's classrooms, is despicable. I’m a retired officer and I knew this was a failure they should have allowed those officers willing to risk their life to go in!
I also feel that the govener should have been one of the clean up people then he could see the carnage and devestation first hand seeing how he conducts his state it probably wouldnt affect him at all.
