"Open plan houses" are all well and good, but it's not much fun when the jet stream stops separating the north pole from the rest of us bc temperature differences between the Arctic Ocean and North Atlantic/Pacific aren't as extreme as they used to be.
Now the jet stream's weaker and wobbling all over the place, letting polar air spill south. Polar temps aren't as cold as they were, but we're not Eskimos, and their balmy is our brrrr.
Meanwhile here in Australia we are having a heatwave! This week has been vile. Today was 44C {112.2F] with a feels like temperature …due to the foul humidity …..of 47.4 {117.3F]. We lost power for 3 hours this afternoon. !No FANS ! No AIRCON!
