Sexual assault victims face too many unnecessary hurdles in our judicial system. The attacker's power is being enhanced by his supporters on social media with real threats and new, real traumas. As if the original trauma was not horrific enough. This type of exponential horror is exacerbated here simply because the victim seeks justice and for the truth to be heard. There must be real and effective guardrails and protections put in place for sexual assault victims to survive the legal process. Trump continues to defame his victim in court and outside of court — during the case. Judges have the power to detain Trump pending completion of the trial — even in a civil case. He can participate in the court proceedings via video, rather than in person (where he could traumatize and/or threaten his victim). Retraumatizing his rape victim is a criminal offense, thus Trump should be detained (in jail) pending completion of the case(s). It is obvious that Trump "will not stop" defaming, traumatizing and intimidating E. Jean Carroll.

Given that it's highly unusual for the defendant to speak in the closing argument because testimony time is over and they are already allowing "special circumstances" so he can "speak" (and we all know he won't follow the rules). Why give more special circumstances of delay?
