I actually thought the short film was spot on 🤷🏼♀️
He actually told Pauly Shore he wasn't interested. Pauly Shore has spoken about it. I liked him but I have lost respect for him over this. Pauly Shore should respect the fact Richard Simmons did not give his blessing for this. He cares more about being in the spotlight again in a big way and wants to use Richard Simmons to get there, that's how it seems to me and I am just not impressed by it. How much will Simmons be paid for this regardless of if he gives his blessing or not? It would seem very wrong not to pay him something, it's a movie about his life and he is still alive.
Nobody can play him better than Pauly
I'd be willing to bet he just doesn't approve because it's not Brad Pitt playing him, cause he doesn't look like Brad Pitt and its a reminder for him.
I don’t know who could play him and do it in a way that was well acted and poignant but I think it would be hard to do!
I wish Richard Simmons would be apart of it and tell his real story

Why are so many people “worried” about him. Leave him be. Isn’t that the point of securing the bag? He gave us his heart and soul for decades if he wants to lay by his pool alone for an hour or 50 that’s his business.
I just watched the short. If the full movie is as good, it’s going to be brilliant. And I can’t imagine it being any less than a tribute movie. Blessings to both Richard and to Pauly.

I just saw the short film. Richard Simmons should watch it and enjoy it. It's really in tune with his philosophy and persona. It really feels like a lovingly-crafted portrait of Richard Simmons, and it's straight up positivity.
I'm still glad I have my Sweatin' to the Oldies DVD box set. Those tapes got me through hard times growing up.

It seems like making a biopic about someone and not getting permission or consulting them will eventually lead to a lawsuit. Not sure that's a project I'd take chances with.

The Short is GREAT and @10 minutes long. It isn't silly or slapstick and Pauly Shore does a GREAT job depicting Richard Simmons (one of the greatest motivators of all-time), IMO.
Pauly’s performance is quite good, toned down and not disrespectful at all. Richard is so flamboyant, fun and helped a lot of people, I and everyone wishes him well.
We respect that he wants to be left TF alone, but we’re gonna do it anyway.
