My reaction to Calhoun's comments: Hahahahah.
Look, people are concentrating too much on Calhoun. The real people to zero in on are quality management, from the quality assurance specialists on the floor to the highest executive I see for quality: Carole Murray. The top person in quality is a woman. A CEO may be extremely ignorant about their QMS; other executives with manufacturing or safety in their titles should also be more aware. The same is true of those that actually tighten nuts and bolts.

Keep spinning off crucial parts of your business and then use them as your supplier. Sounds like a cheap trick to boost your share price.
The board of directors is an old boys club, proof of it is the fact that despite massive failures and missed promised improvements on the 737, the CEO is still employed. This current CEO was brought in to fix the 737 program but it is now more of a complete fiasco. Are they waiting for more deaths before replacing him?
