Not taking the mans side here but i have seen and hearany time of police officers in a public space killing unarmed folks and using the i feared for my life ……ive also heard them say they accidentally took out and fired the gun instead of a teaser…..i guess the question is do you believe the person telling the story…..im not about people getting shot for making a mistake…..but i also dont believe in gun cleaning accidents and many people have gotten away with that half backed excuse over the years …..either way this is something that didn't need to happen…..and i definitely feel for the family of the victim in this case

Was he in custody? Taken into custody or just expected to show up for what will be a life sentence at his age?

If that's true, then it's the defense lawyer's responsibility to enter those pictures into evidence. Sounds like the defense either dropped the ball or tried to win a no-win case.
