Oh come on China. Just because there is a demand (obviously because people get addicted) doesn’t mean China HAS to supply the precursors unless they are for legitimate use. they are making billions helping to make Americans into zombies. So far it’s working.
The us would still be on heroin from Afghanistan if the Chinese labs and cartels didn't restructure to fentanyl. It's cheaper, the precursors are easy to get, and it's more powerful .
This hole thing is sus. Making different types of narcotics in labs. Trying to manufacture things that are so addictive.
The problem is the inability of chronic pain patients to get the meds they need, and many end up going to the streets- because some government hack thought that making rules for rule-breakers was going to work on addicts. Heroin is cheap- but has a bad reputation (rightfully so). Getting decent pain meds is akin to asking a doctor for both of his/her kidneys. This was all so predictable when hydrocodone was moved to Schedule II. That was a move that has killed thousands. Those of us who need pain meds just want to function- we don't take them to fix emotional trauma. Though, if I hadn't gotten a referral to a pain clinic, I can understand wanting to either be shot dead, or trying anything to make my broken body a little more tolerable. So, thank the CDC for the deaths amongst those who were on Rx pain meds for legit, documented disorders that cause pain, but got cut off by doctors' offices because their HQs had ordered them not to prescribe pain meds. Either way, people end up dead. At least with chronic pain, that doesn't have to be the case…. what addicts do (and I worked as a detox RN for years, so props to everyone who has been working on recovery) is on them. The disease may not be a choice, but avoiding help is.
When fentanyl and heroine comes from a foreign country , that wouldn't be Americans fault. Stupid 👎

It reminds me the opium war between British and China in 1840s. British drug dealers convinced government to protect their freedom of trade and the result is the world realized China was just a paper tiger.
