I'm having trouble finding exact cause of the loose bolts issue. It started with Spirit being at fault, then they said Boeing installed the door plug after delivery, the an article I read just this Sunday morning said the fuselage was delivered to Renton, WA (Boeing) with the plug in place. I wonder if there is confusion about exactly who is expected to lock down the bolts in the plug. Maybe Spirt just sticks the plug in the door opening, ships the fuselage, believing that Boeing would complete the install on arrival.
They better be given me some money if that happened to me
Opening the door / removing the door to fix the seal triggered this. No CMES is required if door is open, which is a fail, because either one requires the 4 fasteners be removed. Employees from Spirit have been coming to Renton, to fix their mistakes. 1) No decent mechanic would forget to put the fasteners back in 2) Boeing's CMES system has to be revised to include reinspection, no matter whether the door was "removed" or "open" for service. The fasteners are four AN6 bolts, castellated nuts, and cotter pins. Not a design problem. Problem was A) A terrible mechanic B) Boeing not requiring CMES paperwork if door is "open" (tilted out of aircraft) , whereas "removing" the door does. AFAIK, a CMES event requires a reinspection of the work done.

Why not make the door, plug, so its bigger, then the opening, and has a dual inner Rim, so its seated, inside the planes Door opening ?

No way would I fly into e of those planes. They should be checked to make sure these planes are maintenance everyday.

Boeing might have resumed their flights, but I won't. At least not with any plane manufactured by Boeing at the moment.

When I worked in manufacturing we had quality checklists that had to be completed so I'm having a difficult time believing that they had to be told to do this on a part as important as the plug door. So when to we get a Lockheed Martin stealth liner?
As a man who worked of his most life in factories I can tell you that mistakes will happen but I'm a snake like this can't happen again cuz it would kill somebody.
They really have let their customers down and I really hope that they can regain the Publics confidence and trust back… but the damage has been done ✅

Boeing planes fly better than Airbus. A 757 is like a smooth sports car compared to A320s/321. I have no concern with flying on a Boeing plane.
