Video captured the moments a Los Angeles woman clung to the hood of the car, trying to prevent an alleged dognapping. Ali Zacharias said her French bulldog Onyx was taken by a woman who got into a white Kia sedan with three other people and when Zacharias stood in front of the car, the driver sped forward with her on the hood.

I had a Boston terrier named Bob who was my best friend of my entire life he only ever wanted love as opposed to people usually only operate on cruelty and he was the only family I had…if anyone was ever foolish enough to try and take him from me they WOULD forfeit the right to breathe indubitably on the spot where they stand… EXTREMELY unwise to take someone's dog, take it from the wrong person and find out. I'm so sorry for the woman's loss of such a gorgeous animal and I really hope you get him back.

I've cared for two French bulldogs in the last two decades, both were rescued. This is happening because of the irrational popularity of these dogs. Breeders & puppy mills sell them for thousands of dollars. And criminals try to steal them. It's madness. There are plenty of great dogs out there that need homes, even French bulldogs who have been abandoned. And a lot of French bulldogs have health problems, so they're not always easy to care for. Microchip your dogs. I hope this woman's dog was chipped and I hope she can get her dog back.
