Parents that want their children to have a phone in emergency or at school , could give them a cell phone with no internet . Schools could require only phone with no internet, like flip phone will be approved . Anyone bringing phone with internet will be confiscated.
How about a social media age, like a drinking/voting age.

None of these social media don't care about nobody they don't do nothing if someone get hacked and make fake profiles they don't take it down and no customer service to help you especially Facebook is a piece of crap they need to alot more than keeping kids safe they need to respond quickly to take down fake Facebook account

Social media should be eliminated completely in the US , its a scourge and contributing to the downfall of society and the young generation . We survived without before and life and people were better .
You can never in a thousand years prevent the bad stuff getting on there; best idea is to make Social Media itself age-restricted like R-rated movies, cigarettes, beer, etc. Add a clause to be able to charge the parents too.
They should ban illegal activities on their platforms. Street takeovers, stealing cars, etc. If there is no clout, then they will hopefully stop.
