Leaders of the most popular social media networks testified over how safe their platforms are for children, especially when it comes to sexual exploitation. As these companies defended their platforms, they faced bipartisan anger from lawmakers and parents who lost their children and blame these companies for playing a role in their deaths.

lol the faux anger is laughable. A room full of people and I don’t see any new legislation on the subject by one of them.
Ah yes using children to introduce unconstitutional legislations that infringe our rights
Rather see Epsteins list
The senators think that Mark Zuckerberg is a harm to society, but parents should protect their children from what they see on social networks, that way there will be no suicides through social network. What do you think? They believe that Mark Zuckerberg is a harm to society.
It's not just sexting and using pics to blackmail youth.
Even on youtube there are individuals who exploit issues or minorities to launch predatory assaults and take out of context in an attempt to draw attention to themselves and their platform for reasons of profit and greed. Heedless of collateral damage.
Every time I think Republicans can't stoop any lower, they continue to astonish me. Using those families as political props is utterly disgusting… these are the same politicians who come to the defense of the gun industry when their "product" slaughters children
It's both. Social media should have things in place like policies that separate kids from adults. They don't. Parents should be better parents and should monitor what their kids do or use. Yes ALL social media should ban naked children from social media regardless parents allowing it or not. Kids should be blocking people who send them nudes. It's called the dark web for a reason. Parents should keep their children off it.
Actually outside of social media also plays a part. Just overall a good principle is to just teach discipline and morals
Classic blame the company not the parent.
Oh gee. Zuckerberg lies to Congress again. Imagine our surprise.
It’s ironic that Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz have posted their pro-Trump buffoonery on social media.
They should parent better and taught their kid a thing or two. Having a third party app to solve this is so stupid honestly. Just look through your kids phone and see what theyre doing? Its not social media's fault it just seems like bad parenting to me
One thing you people have to understand is that Politicians cannot attack parents because then they'll lose votes and they dont want that.
All these parents have no accountability and want to play the victim, no apology needed. How about you raise your kid instead of letting them consume hours on these devices without checking what they’re doing.
WHO IS TARA READE????????????
Parents trying to outsoucre their jobs😅
The Zuckerberg Foundation will definitely be contributing to the opponents of Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz next term. 😂🤷♂️
I'm hearing a lot of bad parenting here.
It should be a given that kids are going to expose their bodies, identity, and safety online if you allow them to.
Rule of thumb: if you have ever called Geek Squad, you are not capable of being responsible with your kids' Internet access.
I doubt this do-nothing Congress will pass any legislation. They like to get their faces on camera and act outraged, but they're a big part of the problem. Girls have been devastated by social media but nothing changes.
Parents should parent better…
