Alec Baldwin has pleaded not guilty to the involuntary manslaughter charge over the 2021 shooting of a cinematographer on the set of “Rust.” NBC’s Danny Cevallos reports on why Baldwin waived his right to an arraignment following the not-guilty plea.

“The analysis from experts in ballistics and forensic testing relied on replacement parts to reassemble the gun fired by Baldwin, after parts of the pistol were broken during testing by the FBI. The report examined the gun and markings it left on a spent cartridge to conclude that the trigger had to have been pulled or depressed”.
* The gun was allegedly ‘modified’. In this respect there very well could have been a malfunction, either by a defective sear causing the hammer to be discharged with no amount of pressure being applied. Additionally, one cannot determine whether live or ‘blank’ rounds were in the gun ( F.lli Pietta long Colt 45 revolver) simply by spinning the cylinder. This was the job of the ‘Armorer’ and assistant to check and verify the safety of the weapon (Prop Gun).
** * A slip gun is a revolver which has been modified to disconnect the trigger from the hammer, so as to cause it to fire by pulling back and releasing the hammer. Often the hammer spur is lowered, so the gun may be fired by wiping one's finger across the hammer. Enough said.
There is a no drinking clause to remain out of jail pending trial. Don’t now how that will go.

So how did live rounds & real gun just all of a sudden appear on a set & why real gun not a prop gun appear?
Who brought it there, it had to be registered right?
Why wasn’t a prop gun used like all the other movies?
Did the director make this decision? So many unanswered questions?
