A pod of #orcas which appeared to be trapped in drift #ice off the coast of Hokkaido in northern #Japan have escaped, local media has reported.

If an orca can travel 35 mph and they can hold their breath for 15 minutes. Then it would only take about 2 and a half minutes to travel away from the ice with plenty of time left.

Their "body language" suggests they are just taking a breather. They are obviously not distressed.
