Finland’s flagship airline Finnair has announced it has begun inviting passengers to hop on a scale with their bags before their flight.
The airline says the weight-in is voluntary, and that the data will help the airline improve balance calculations and improve flight safety.

I call bullsxxx. They want to determine how to charge more so they can optimize freight weight. Freight is a significant revenue producer for passenger flights.

This is normal. the weight of the load is crucially important for safe operation. In the EU, we have an average weight of male and females, and for the US, there are different scales as they weigh more..
Finnair noticed that after the winter holidays, people bring heavy coats and may get a few kg more, so this is the reason.

Turns out that planes have been flying just fine before they decided they were going to weigh everyone.
Government!! Increasingly authoritarian and will soon demand to weigh all of us, while our taxes pay for government officials private flights!
Obesity is heavy already to carry on, everybody must change lifestyle and get rid of extra weight, that's real poison and cancer threat, airlines companies are so lucky to make astronomic profits, they can make smart investments in health research and …save over weight passengers to get released of an unfit oversize body, this situation must be a huge advantage for everybody. Diners restaurants and McDonald's might lose customers but everybody could be happier. Veggies soup for everybody guys, fruit juice and forget burgers😢😢😢

Basically saying the average american weighs double the average Finn, over 50-100 passengers that can be thousands of additional pounds!
