  1. I flew 53E’s. Along with other helos. The 53 has great weather and anti ice equipment. But, there is no peacetime mission to fly in t storms or icing and no Opso or commander or command can order one to try, The aircraft commander is the authority to fly or not. This was not combat. They sadly chose to fly and not divert to say Yuma…likely tried to duck under the weather and ran out of turning room. Very sad but don’t blame DoD, the Corps, or someone not in the aircraft

  2. RIP. Once I heard of this I automatically assumed it was an Osprey accident due to the amount of fatalities from that helicopter. Nonetheless, bless those who have moved on.

  3. I used to work on these helicopters (CH53-D/E). in my years of touching them, we had birds fall out of the sky all the time. When I was in Hawaii we had two crash and killed everyone on board both aircraft. To my knowledge, it's was never a mechanical error. Always a pilot error. Those two that crashed on the north shore of Oahu was because they crashed into one another.

  4. There’s a storm, we’re taking a day off from the war…

  5. Semper Fi brother. Rest easy

  6. I don’t understand taking risk in a 1000 year storm. It’s a shame. To lose these people.

  7. Respect and thank you for serving! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  8. I spent five years active duty Marine and I never heard of rain being a reason why training shouldn't proceed. It doesn't rain on Marines it rains for Marines

  9. JESUS CHRIST “LISTENS” TO PRAYERS! LET US ALL PRAY FOR THIS YOUNG MAN’s ENTIRE FAMILY! MY SON RETIRED FROM THE MARINE CORPS, AFTER FLYING IN CH-53’s for 20 LONG YEARS! INCLUDING IRAQI and AFGHANISTAN DEPLOYMENTS … I SPENT MANY SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AS A FATHER THEN. … “SEMPER FI” GOD BLESS ALL OUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN … AND THEIR FAMILIES. PEACE BE WITH THEM

  10. Cheap Run Down Helicopters. Use Our Tax Money For Reliable Training Equipment Instead Of Wasting All Of It On Migrants..

  11. Cheap Run Down Helicopters. Use Our Tax Money For Reliable Training Equipment Instead Of Supporting Migrants..

  12. SEMPER FIDELIS USMC 77/88 🔴⚪🔵

  13. Such a tragedy, no matter what they say in defense, they should be held accountable to allow this in dangerous weather. 😥

  14. My condolences from a USMC veteran

  15. Rest in Paradise Devil, Rah!

  16. He got to live the life i wanted may he Rest In Peace sir my condolences!

  17. There’s been an alarming amount of aviation crashes in the last 2 or so weeks all across the US from civilian, commercial, and military and it’s been a mix of rotor and fixed wing. Kind of curious why now.

  18. How did the chopper go down!,,,,,EVERYONE KNOWS YA DONT FLY IN BAD WEATHE ESPECially in this weather!!

  19. Summer of 1995 Operation Teamspirit in South Korea . A few Marines Sgt.Clarke , Sgt Boothe , Lcpl Janzack who later in career became a colonel and myself flew from Pohang,South Korea to Osan ,South Korea short flight once we landed some type of storm happened almost all flights were grounded . After a week my Unit MWSS 172 sent five tons and hummers to pick us up . Sometimes Marine Corps won’t take unnecessary risks for a mission .

  20. Nature can be cruel and can be kind. Be careful what you do to whom.

  21. WE SURE ARE LOSING ALOT OF MARINES! PRAYERS FOR OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES MAY GOD REST THEIR SOULS AND PEACE WITHIN THEIR FAMILIES HEARTS!!!!!!

  22. You’re a pilot? You know the answer. I’m sorry for your loss but you know what it is.

  23. Sorry for your loss Dad 🇺🇸 they shouldn’t have been on a training flight in that weather.

  24. Not. These guys were sent to their death😢

  25. I thought there was meant to be a Risk Assessments before Every Military Flight.

  26. Captain Davis…I cannot comprehend the magnitude and depth of your loss…I have been a pilot 45 years…and feel as you do…crew and aircraft should have been weathering the storm on the ground…I fully back your call …for an investigation…as to whom an how…these faulty…questionable flight orders were issued. My heart goes out to you…your family.. to the families of all the Marines…Sincerely Randy Hodder…Pilot…SemperFi

  27. Military went woke and these type of accidents are on the increase.
How much more people have to die before coming sense comes back?

  28. Sorry for his loss but he should understand that it wasn’t his son’s choice to be flying in weather like that and neither did the crew in charge of the aircraft he was in, they were told to fly so they flew. While the Command should have considered weather and delaying the flight or altering the destination but that’s a command decision not a flight crew decision, the flight crew crew simply gets told when and where to go and what route they should take because airspace for military maneuvers is usually pre planned to avoid civilian aircraft

  29. As a Vietnam Era Marine Corps veteran who served in aviation around helicopters, I truly can't understand why they would be flying in such horrendous conditions, especially in mountainous terrain. I am deeply saddened for all involved in this tragedy of my fellow Marines and their families. I wish I could trade places so that they can live. Semper Fi!!
