  1. I’m quite surprised. I was a keen watcher of wanted down under and most Brits wanted to immigrate to Australia, because of the lifestyle, the better work- life balance… as originally from Hungary I never understood: why would you check your emails, text, calls out of working hours? They don’t pay, I don’t work. It’s that simple. Should be the baseline in every country in the world. I know in many countries they barely pay in working hours and the money they get it’s only enough to survive, but not enough to live on. But honestly countries like US, Australia, UK, Germany, etc I don’t think it’s an acceptable practice.

  2. Why talked about Europe, its law in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 employees have the "right to disconnect."

  3. These laws already in action in China last year- nothing new- common sense- you work as agreed to the hours- and then u go home
U should have petsonal email and mobile unrelated to work.
I am just surprised that anyone would talk work after hours
New laws- no after work drinks- no staff christmas dinners- boss needs to pay after hours rates for staff to go drinks or christmas dinners

  4. My employers calls and texts all the time. I pick up or ignor at my leisure

  5. If you don't value your time your employer won't.

  6. I work healthcare…i used to get texts all the time…Now? i block…Occasionally i may answer but for the most part, I block em….When im off, Im off….No where in my contract does it state that i must be at anyone's beck and call…nowhere!

  7. A law for this ? I thought the USA was a shitshow

  8. This is how I have operated my whole life, my employer can call but I am not obligated to pick up. If they want that obligation then they need to compensate me for it. I have now had a successful IT career with full time employment for over 25 years.

  9. Have these slaves, no shame?
