San Francisco authorities have added suicide-deterrent nets to the sides of the Golden Gate Bridge. The steel nets are designed to offer a second chance to those struggling with mental health issues. The installation has already shown progress, according to officials.

Yet no resources to help people!!!! Many people are offing themselves due to financial problems- nobody can help those things. Our country is just a miserable place to live in right now. Mental Health services can only do so much.
If its getting this bad maybe it’s not a people problem but a society problem.

this is nice and all but more funding should be put towards resources that would help improve people's quality of life and give them an outlet to feel like they're a part of a community/are wanted/needed somewhere so they dont have to get to this point. we need more emphasis on suicide prevention at the root of its problem
A solid social net is more effective. Authorities don't seem to make the connection.

If you’re gonna do suicide, don’t tryna romanticize it by doing it at Golden Gate Bridge. Don’t leave others traumatized either after seeing you did it. Honestly, it’s utterly selfish to do it there, either don’t do it or do it at your own discretion.
