Most horses know their way home. I'm not sure about it in a city, but as a child, my grandma's horse always took us home. They're amazing animals. Very smart. But she was probably very scared.

Horses are very intelligent animals. They are able to quickly and cleverly solve any puzzle in their way, undo any lock, squeeze past any gate, to gallop happily towards whatever is going to kill them fastest.
No kidding, back in the late 70’s in suburban Chicago on Halloween night, I had two loose horses running toward me on a 55MPH highway! They split and each went around me on opposite sides!! We had NO cell phones then, so when I got to my destination, I phoned local police to report and I think they thought I was a prank caller!! I have NO idea if those two were safely rescued!! 🐎🐴

That poor horse's legs are ruined now. Running on concrete absolutely destroys the leg bones & joints of horses. Carriage horses in NYC are required by law to have special rubber horse shoes put on so their legs aren't destroyed by just walking & trotting on pavement.
Horse has better road safety than most drivers.

So incredibly sad to watch. Anyone going to blame the wannabe urban cowboy? Likely not, but what are the chances this doomed horse was shod for clomping down freeway concrete?
I do not hear the "clackity clack" of hard steel shoes, I hear the "clompity clomp" of bare hooves. All four hooves will be shattered and I am no vet, but I think that amounts to the equivalent of a broken leg to the horse.
Please tell us otherwise Dr Dolittle and if you can, do a little bit more for this horse, ty.

For anyone wondering, the horse made it home safe
The only explanation i have for what im seeing, is that the 🐎 was running late for work and was just trying to beat the morning traffic on i95. Happens to the best of us 😂
