EVs are a niche product. They only work for light delivery on set routes & commuter cars you can plug in at home overnight. Want to haul a load long distances?? look elsewhere. The Big 3 thought they could copy Tesla without realizing that Tesla is much much more than a simple car manufacturer. And then Bumbling Joe Biden and his airy-fairy fart sniffers got involved. Disaster.
When they are 1/2 -2/3 the price of ICE cars people will buy them.

Price isn't the main issue, as we see many buying expensive pickups and SUVs. The main issue is what you get for the $$$. If you can't comfortably use the EV and it only becomes a local commuter car, then you're insane to spend this kind of money on them..

EVs would be good in S Florida climate to go get your groceries at the nearest supermarket. Because of climate region, you can't broad brush mandates. -20 below and 85 above F are too different worlds.

Before you go purchase a new EV besure to check the one that people have turn in off lease. You think getting $7500 tax credit is good but its not. This is a example of what i'm talking about. I purchase a new 2023 VW ID.4 for $46000 – $ 7500 = $38500. That was in Octorber 2023. fast forward to February 2024. I find the same car. The car is a turn in Leased car. 2023 VW ID.4 for $33000. Car had 3600 miles on it so still new. Since it was a 2023 I also got 3 years free charging just like the new one. So the car i paid $46000 for in a nut shell is only worth $33000 5 months later. So becareful with getting a new one that will drop in price by $13000 when you drive it off the lot.

Not the solution when in one small USA city I observe half block idling lineups to drive through In 'n' out for burgers. No synchronizing of lights along busy streets. No flashing yellow lights ahead of signals to indicate pending red. Just flashing yellow to indicate a traffic light ahead. One person(almost) only in every vehicle. Monster RV's in the RV parks and on the roads. Etc. etc. Oh and expanding population of the world(The real problem)

EV is great in warm states only. This doesn’t help cold states. We need hydrogen engines here in the cold. If you can’t keep your EV in the garage you instantly cut the battery life down by more the half it’s claimed recommendation.

They're too expensive, there's no infrastructure in place, it's unaffordable, it's non-sustainable, it's life expectancy is way too short, they don't work in cold or hot environments, they are a disposable vehicle, and their carbon footprint is a massive amount ahead of a non ev.
