Sounds like the neutrality deal of March 2022 negotiations in Turkey was a far smarter idea for Ukraine than caving in under US demands to ditch the deal and keep fighting, based on the promises of "unwavering" support.

Just type "Europe" into a search engine—chances are the very thing David Cameron was crying about will accompany the name 'Western' or European countries. As he said those things, Britain was still in breach of international law, refusing to hand over the Chagos Islands.
Cameron now has the benefit of talking in retrospect by claiming that escalating the lethality and size of weapons supplied to Ukraine didn't expand the war. In reality, what "Western" countries were doing, was "poking the bear" incrementally to see how it would react. When they didn't get the "bite" they feared, they continued poking. Now that they've done enough "poking," they have grown confident that the bear won't "bite" as they feared. Therefore, people like Cameron are calculating that they can open-endedly escalate the size and lethality of weapons sent to Ukraine without risking a "mutually assured destruction" between NATO and Russia.
