When I was a kid, we went to Atlantic Beach in South Carolina every summer and my dad always told me, "Don't dig no holes, just build something!"
The adults in charge are a band of idiots. Them letting a young child like that dig a hole 5 ft deep in sand is irresponsible ASF

Those kids did not dig that hole within 5 minutes, had to be much longer. So where was everyone at??
I also agree. I have never heard of this happening while playing on the beach. They are not from an area surrounded by ocean and sand. They probably had no idea. Get lawyers. Look for posted signs. Take pictures if no signs. I think most people from states in the central United States and elsewhere would have no idea about this happening. This should never happen again no matter who dug the hole.
I never liked going to the beach because some sands are very dangerous and sometimes it causes the hole to take people's lives.
Where were her parents? Why were they allegedly not watching and supervising her? Is CPS doing a child abuse investigation for not adequately supervising the child?

Fucking parents. Stop letting your kids dig giant holes in the beach. Many beaches have a rule against this and people ignore it. Besides being dangerous for the digger, tractors and trucks have to be able to roll down the beach and if they drop nose first into one of these, it could kill the driver. Plus, the driver can't see you in that hole so you're getting squished too. Someone could walk down the beach at night and fall in.
Just because you're on vacation, it doesn't give you license to slack off on your supervision and put everyone in danger. LEARN about the environment you're lounging in. Sand is unstable. Every adult knows this. There's a saying about it even, "Don't build your house on the sand"? (It's almost suspicious)
I honestly feel bad for the guardian because this was 100% preventable by them and they're going to have to live with that. Just pisses me off.
This is tragic but let's get real if the family was black the parents would already be arrested charged with whatever they could be charged with. How can the parents not realize how dangerous that was as there kids dug a death trap to play in?

How did they get a 6 foot hole dug without anybody warning them/stopping them?!! That’s CRAZY. That poor little boy is gonna be traumatized for the rest of his life after seeing what happened to his sister. My thoughts are with the family and all the beachgoers who had to witness this awful tragedy. This is so heartbreaking. A fun family day at the beach turned deadly. 😔

Kids do the darndest things…like digging their own graves…at the beach…on vacation…in Florida…where protecting kids is Ron DeSantis' biggest goal in life these days. Family values are funny that way.

Where in the world is the sand they dug out. I can imagine when the walls collapsed it could have increased the size of the hole. But if the original one was 6 ft deep where is that sand. Is that what eventually buried them. I just cant wrap my head around this. So sad 😢 RIP child. 🙏 for the family.

It was probably a “fun” family thing to dig a big ass hole but most people don’t realize how unstable sand is.

Ya'll don't seem to understand how quickly sand moves. Likely there was some water in the pit as wel. One time at the puny river i got sucked into just 5 inches of quiksand. Was scary n you can't start to freak out or you get sucked in even deeper this could have happened to the little kids. This isn't a cut n dry situation..many blessings of compassion to the family.
