LGBTQ Widows Legally Barred From Marriage Could Be Eligible For Payouts

Before same-sex marriage was legalized in 2015, gay and lesbian couples have long been denied survivors benefits that have been limited to conventional married couples. NBC News’ Joshua Johnson is joined by Peter Renn, counsel for the legal advocacy group Lambda Legal, to discuss how the Biden Administration is now paying out large sums of money to those surviving partners who were not previously allowed to get married.

  1. You know the narrative is struggling when the wagie that curates 'Top news' for YouTube refuses to add videos on stories that have happened within the last few days, they are getting upset with so many people rejecting the 'official explanation' that they won't even put it out on display anymore.

  2. Rainbow problems leads to disaster.

  3. What a bundle of sticks.

  4. They can tell us what to do with our life's but if anyone tells them what to do with their life's or their kids life they get mad, well now you know how it feels for others

  5. THESE ALPHABET PEOPLE ARE OUT OF CONTROL

  6. The government should have nothing to do with marriage.
Why do we have a marriage status on income taxes? A spouse should be considered a dependant or provider depending on which earns the most, but there should be no tax benefit just for being married.
This has nothing to do with your gender or sexual preference. If government got out of marriage this would solve everybody's problem.
We should not have divorce court. Divorce should be treated like any other contract and business arrangement.
There is only one exception and that is determining custody of a child, the government should be able to consider marriage for the good of the child.
Prenups should be recognized by law. If you don't have one then you leave the marriage with only what you brought into it plus what you earned, and minus what you spent, no more no less, except in the case of fraud or adultery.

  7. The absurdity of ignorant comments, totally unrelated to the subject mater, shows the limited and dismissive cognitive abilities of many Americans. Discrimination of others is wrong, whether you agree with their beliefs or not. Making jokes about someone who was murdered by authorities shows a sociopathic lack of empathy and /or just plain racism

  8. Shout out to George Floyd on 624 days of sobriety. It took some tough love but he did it. Say his name liberals!
