There are homes all over my neighborhood and city sitting empty and boarded up, yet not a single "For Sale" sign in front of any of them. With housing shortages and rising home prices how can this be? Have "House Flipping" "Fixer-upper" and "Sweat equity" completely vanished from the lexicon?

someone that is constantly looking at buying homes in different states….. screams out landlord to me. Buy a house, jack up the rent in the area. don't you want to know your neighborhood before you commit to a life there? or at least the area… or even the state?
The prices are pretty crazy as well, think about it houses are 500k-750k. You’ll never will pay it will take forever

Rising interest rates only hurt first-time home buyers. It will not hurt institutional investors and cash buyers from buying and turning them into rentals.

i just assume i'll never own a house. my wife and i work full time and its just not happening.
I tried buying for the last two years. Finally found a new build we liked and we’re wait listed. Then was only given an HOUR to make the biggest decision of our lives. Now we’re just going to sit and wait. Oh and the kicker? That house we wanted is now a rental home for $600 less than what my mortgage was going to be.
I bought a house in the middle of this pandemic 2020 July everybody thought I was crazy paid 710k now it’s worth 1.1 million now that is crazy 2.9 % apr
And when we can't afford housing and have to resort to RV living, people call the police on us for sleeping in our cars, or RVs. They won't even let us do that to survive.
I'll never be able to afford my own home, so I'm saving for a used trailer instead. I'll never be able to afford to buy an apartment, a townhome, or a single-family home. Large corporations and the rich made it pretty much impossible for us regular working folks to ever afford a small home even. So, I'm hoping I can get a trailer and park it on a lot instead. That's America for you. You'll own nothing and the elites expect you to be happy about it.
2011 was the best time to buy a home. I got a 4br 2b 2100 sqf $155,000. My friend got a townhouse for $40,000. The foreclosure said the people had a $210,000 dollar mortgage on the townhouse.. It's exactly like that today.. Townhouses going for over $200,000.. You have to be insane to buy anything right now..
i learn to a real estate agent they told buy this house that needs work because of me and my wife income we buy the house for 80.000 now today its worth about 500.000 now one wants to lisen till they get burnt . i was thankful and lucky to be not very picky
The American dream has become a nightmare. The increase of housing prices has placed the potential buyer into the rental market, therefore since Americans can't purchase, landlords increase the cost of rental properties.
